Overlandia Privacy Policy
Overlandia is a game for iPhone, iPad, and Mac made by Adelaide Endeavors LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the game uses, where it goes, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We do not run our own servers for the game. The game uses Apple’s Game Center and iCloud.
- The game has no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. We do not sell or share your information.
- If you are signed in to Game Center, your Game Center name appears in the logbook of each campsite you reach, and other players can see it.
Information the game uses
Game Center
If you are signed in to Game Center, the game receives your Game Center player identifier and your Game Center display name from Apple. The game uses them to:
- Sign campsite logbooks. When you reach a campsite, the game writes one logbook entry to the game’s public iCloud database. The entry holds the campsite’s identifier, your Game Center player identifier, your Game Center display name, the type of campsite (road, two-track, or backcountry), and the time you arrived. Every player of the game can see the display names in a campsite’s logbook. Your arrival order sets your score for that campsite.
- Post leaderboard scores. The game sends your campsite score and the distances you drive on roads, on two-tracks, and off-road to Game Center leaderboards. Apple shows them to other players according to your Game Center settings.
If you are not signed in to Game Center, the game writes no logbook entries and posts no scores. The campsites you reach while signed out wait on your device, and the game signs their logbooks when you sign in.
Your saved game
The game saves your progress on your device: your last position in the world, the campsites you reached, your scores, your distances, and a random identifier that the game creates for each of your devices. If you are signed in to iCloud, the game also keeps a copy in your private iCloud storage so that your progress follows you between your devices. We cannot see your private iCloud data.
TestFlight
During testing, Apple’s TestFlight may share information with us, such as crash reports, device type and system version, how many sessions you play, and any feedback, screenshots, or email address you choose to send. Apple controls this under its own terms. See Apple’s privacy policy and the TestFlight app for details.
If you email us, we keep your message and address only to answer you.
What we do not collect
The game does not collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising identifier, or any other personal information. It contains no third-party code for analytics or advertising.
Your choices
- Play without Game Center. Stay signed out of Game Center, and the game will not sign logbooks or post scores.
- Delete your saved game. Delete the app to remove the save from your device. To remove the iCloud copy, use your device’s iCloud storage settings.
- Remove your logbook entries. Email support@adend.io with your Game Center name, and we will delete your entries from the campsite logbooks.
- Leaderboard scores. Apple keeps leaderboard scores. You can manage your Game Center profile and its visibility in your device’s Game Center settings.
How long we keep information
- Logbook entries stay in the game’s public database while the game runs, unless you ask us to delete them.
- Your saved game stays on your device and in your iCloud storage until you delete it.
- Emails are kept only as long as we need them to answer you.
Where information is stored
Logbook entries, leaderboard scores, and the iCloud copy of your saved game are stored by Apple on Apple’s servers, which can be in a different country from yours.
Legal basis and your rights
We use your Game Center name and identifier only to provide the game features you choose to use: the campsite logbooks and the leaderboards. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another place with similar laws, this is the legal basis for that use.
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@adend.io, and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Overlandia is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has signed a campsite logbook, email us and we will delete the entry.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the game uses information, we will update this page and its effective date.
